“I agree” ✓ · “You’re wrong” ✗
→ Mejor: “I’m not sure I agree with that.”
|---|---|---|
| Iniciar |
| Personally, I believe that public transport should be free. |
| Tomar turno |
| If I may, I’d like to comment on that point. |
| Ceder turno |
| That’s all from me. What do you think? |
Evita solo “I agree / I disagree”. Usa grados de acuerdo y desacuerdo:
| Grado | Frases | Uso |
|---|---|---|
| Acuerdo total |
| Cuando piensas casi exactamente lo mismo. |
| Acuerdo parcial |
| Desacuerdo suave |
| Expresas desacuerdo de forma educada. |
| Desacuerdo fuerte (formal) |
| Debate más intenso, pero manteniendo la cortesía. |
A: Some people say school should start later.
B: I agree up to a point, but it might be difficult for parents who work early.
|---|---|---|
| Interrumpir con cuidado |
| Sorry to interrupt, but I’m not sure that’s the main problem. |
| Pedir aclaración |
| So, are you saying that schools should be open at weekends? |
| Reformular tu idea |
| In other words, we need more teachers, not more exams. |
Evita frases directas como “You’re wrong” o “That’s stupid”.
Proponer opciones
Making suggestions
• Why don’t we…?
• How about + -ing…?
• We could…
• Maybe we should…
Ejemplos
• We could start with the cheapest option.
• How about choosing the museum? It’s not expensive.
Reaccionar a sugerencias
| Función | Frases |
|---|---|
| Aceptar |
|
| Rechazar suavemente |
|
| Tomar decisión conjunta |
|
Mini-diálogo modelo (tarea de decisión)
A: We need to decide which activity is best for a school trip.
B: Well, I think the science museum is a good option because it’s educational.
A: I see your point, but it might be a bit boring for some students.
B: That’s true. How about the amusement park?
A: That’s a good idea. It’s fun and there are activities for everyone.
B: So, shall we choose the amusement park?
A: Yes, I think we can agree on that.
6) Mini-práctica
- Completa con una expresión para tomar turno:
a) “___________, I’d like to add something about that.”
b) “___________ say something here?”
c) “___________, but I don’t think that’s the only solution.”
a) (muy directo) “You’re wrong.” / (B2) “I’m not sure I agree with that.”
b) (muy directo) “That’s a stupid idea.” / (B2) “I don’t really think that would work.”
c) (muy directo) “No, that’s false.” / (B2) “I’m afraid I have to disagree.”
a) *Yes, you’re right, but I think there are other problems too.*
b) *Yes, that’s true, but I don’t think everyone will like it.*
(Empieza con: I agree up to a point, but… o That may be true, however…)
a) “We can to go to the cinema.”
b) “Why don’t we go to the cinema?”
c) “I think go to cinema.”
d) “How about choose the cheapest option?”
e) “How about choosing the cheapest option?”
• terminan con una decisión: “So, shall we…?”

1) a) If I may, I’d like to add something…
b) Can I say something here?
