2) Mid-position con verbos simples y to be
Mid-position = entre sujeto y verbo principal. Con el verbo to be, el adverbio va después de BE.
| Tipo | Patrón | Ejemplos |
|---|---|---|
| Verbo normal | S + Adv + V | I always get up early. They often go to the gym. She never eats breakfast. |
| to be | S + BE + Adv | He is usually very tired. We are never late. |
✗ I get up always early.
✓ I always get up early.
✗ He always is late.
✓ He is always late.
3) Mid-position con auxiliares (have, will, can, etc.)
|---|---|---|
| Presente perfecto | S + have/has + Adv + V3 | She has never been to London. We have always liked music. |
| Futuro con will | S + will + Adv + V | I will probably go there. They will never forget this day. |
| Modales (can, must…) | S + modal + Adv + V | He can rarely relax. You must always wear a helmet. |
✗ She has been never to London.
✓ She has never been to London.
A) End-position (final)
| Tipo | Ejemplos |
|---|---|
| Tiempo | She finished her homework yesterday. We will see you tomorrow. I’m leaving in an hour. |
| Lugar | They met at the station. He works in the city centre. |
| Modo | She sings beautifully. He drove very carefully. |
B) Front-position (inicio)
• Sometimes, I work from home.
• Yesterday, we visited my grandparents.
• Usually, I have coffee in the morning.
Orden típico: modo + lugar + tiempo: She sang beautifully at the concert yesterday.
5) Adverbios de grado: very, quite, really, too
|---|---|---|
| Antes de adjetivo | Adv + Adj | It’s very cold today. She’s really tired. |
| Antes de adverbio | Adv + Adv | He drives quite slowly. She sings very beautifully. |
| too (demasiado) | too + Adj / Adv | It’s too late. He speaks too quickly for me. |
No confundas too (demasiado) con very (muy): It’s very hot (hace mucho calor, normal) vs It’s too hot (demasiado, problema).

| *She has been never to Paris.* | She has never been to Paris. | Mid-position: después del primer auxiliar. |
