(ahora) ──────────▶ (mañana 8 pm: I will be studying)
Ejemplo:
This time tomorrow, I’ll be flying to London.
A) Estructura básica
will be + verbo en -ing (misma forma para todas las personas)
| Tipo | Estructura | Ejemplo |
|---|---|---|
| Afirmativa | Sujeto + will be + -ing | I will be working late tonight. |
| Negativa | Sujeto + will not (won’t) be + -ing | She won’t be joining us for dinner. |
| Interrogativa | Will + sujeto + be + -ing…? | Will you be using the car tonight? |
|---|---|---|
| “Foto” del futuro | At 10 pm tonight, I will be studying for my exam. |
| Plan fijo | This time next week, we will be lying on the beach. | Proyección muy clara de lo que ocurrirá. |
| Choque de planes | Don’t call me at 8. I will be having dinner. |
2) Rutinas / planes ya decididos (visión neutral)
I’ll be staying with my aunt while I’m in New York.
(plan ya establecido, suena bastante neutro)
He’ll be working from home next month.
3) Preguntas educadas / menos invasivas
Will you be using your laptop this afternoon?
(más suave que Are you using your laptop…?)
Will you be joining us for lunch?
Don’t worry, they’ll be sleeping by then.
She’ll be working late tonight, I’m sure.
4) Marcadores típicos y contraste con otros futuros
A) Marcadores de tiempo frecuentes
| Marcador | Uso | Ejemplo |
|---|---|---|
| this time tomorrow / next week | proyección clara a una hora similar futura | This time tomorrow, I’ll be flying to Japan. |
| at 8 pm, at midnight | momento exacto | At 8 pm, they will be watching the match. |
| all day / all night / all weekend | actividad larga | We’ll be driving all night to get there. |
| while / when + future reference | contexto de otra acción futura | While you’re travelling, I’ll be working. |
B) Future Simple vs Future Continuous vs Present Continuous
| Situación | Future Simple (will) | Future Continuous (will be -ing) | Present Continuous (futuro) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Decisión espontánea | I’m tired. I’ll go to bed.
| I’ll meet John at 6. (correcto, pero neutro) | I’ll be meeting John at 6. (plan ya en marcha, tono más objetivo) | I’m meeting John at 6. (muy seguro, informal, “agenda”) |
| Acción en progreso en un punto futuro | At 10, I’ll study. (suena más a intención simple) | At 10, I’ll be studying. |
| Pregunta educada sobre planes | Will you come tomorrow? (ok, pero algo directo) | Will you be coming tomorrow? (más suave/educado) | Are you coming tomorrow? (informal, asume casi que sí) |
5) Errores comunes con Future Continuous
| Incorrecto | Correcto | Por qué |
|---|---|---|
| *I will studying at 10.* | I will be studying at 10. | Falta el auxiliar be: siempre will be + -ing. |
| *I am going to be study at 10.* | I am going to be studying at 10. | Si usas going to be, el verbo también va en -ing. |
| *Will be you working tomorrow?* | Will you be working tomorrow? | Orden en la pregunta: Will + sujeto + be + -ing. |
| *At 8, I study English.* (hablando del futuro) | At 8, I’ll be studying English. |
| *Will you are coming tonight?* | Will you be coming tonight? / Are you coming tonight? | No se mezclan will y are delante del mismo verbo. |
