Some / Any / No + compuestos (someone, anything…)
Aprende a usar some, any, no y sus compuestos (someone, anything, nowhere…) para hablar de cantidades y de “algo / alguien / en algún lugar” en nivel A2.
1) Mapa rápido
Idea clave: normalmente usamos some en afirmativas, any en negativas y preguntas y no para decir “ninguno” en frases afirmativas.
2) Some / Any / No (repaso rápido)
Con sustantivos contables (plural) y no contables:
| Forma | Tipo de oración | Ejemplo |
|---|---|---|
| some | Afirmativa, ofertas, peticiones | We have some bananas. (contable) There is some milk. (no contable) Would you like some coffee? |
| any | Preguntas y negativas | Do you have any brothers? We don’t have any rice. |
| no | Afirmativa con significado negativo | We have no sugar. (≈ We don’t have any sugar.) There are no buses today. |
There are some apples on the table. – Hay algunas manzanas en la mesa.
There aren’t any apples. – No hay manzanas.
There are no apples. – No hay manzanas (más enfático).
3) Compuestos con some- (positivo / “algún”)
Se usan sobre todo en oraciones afirmativas y cuando esperamos una respuesta positiva.
| Forma | Significado | Ejemplo |
|---|---|---|
| someone / somebody | alguien | Someone is at the door. (Hay alguien en la puerta.) |
| something | algo | I want something to eat. (Quiero algo de comer.) |
| somewhere | en algún lugar | Let’s go somewhere nice. (Vamos a algún lugar agradable.) |
Would you like something to drink? – ¿Te gustaría algo de beber?
4) Compuestos con any- y no-
any- aparece en preguntas y negativas. no- da una idea fuerte de “ninguno”.
| Grupo | Forma | Ejemplo |
|---|---|---|
| Persona | anyone / anybody = alguien / nadie (en negación) | Do you know anyone here? (¿Conoces a alguien aquí?) I don’t know anyone. (No conozco a nadie.) |
| no one / nobody = nadie | No one is in the office. (No hay nadie en la oficina.) Nobody called me. (Nadie me llamó.) | |
| Cosa | anything = algo / nada (en negación) | Do you want anything? (¿Quieres algo?) I don’t want anything. (No quiero nada.) |
| nothing = nada | There is nothing in the fridge. (No hay nada en el refri.) | |
| Lugar | anywhere = en cualquier lugar / en ningún lugar (en negación) | Can we sit anywhere? (¿Podemos sentarnos en cualquier lugar?) I can’t find my keys anywhere. (No puedo encontrar mis llaves en ningún lado.) |
| nowhere = en ningún lugar | It’s in the middle of nowhere. (Está en medio de la nada.) There is nowhere to park. (No hay dónde estacionar.) |
I have nothing to do. – No tengo nada que hacer.
I don’t have anything to do. – No tengo nada que hacer. (significado similar)
5) Errores comunes (¡ojo con la doble negación!)
| Incorrecto | Correcto | Por qué |
|---|---|---|
| *I don’t have some money.* | I don’t have any money. | En negativas usamos normalmente any, no some. |
| *Do you have some brothers?* (pregunta neutra) | Do you have any brothers? | Pregunta general → mejor any. some se usa en ofertas/esperando “sí”. |
| *Nobody doesn’t know me.* | Nobody knows me. / No one knows me. | No usamos doble negación: nobody ya es negativo. |
| *I don’t want nothing.* | I don’t want anything / I want nothing. | Otra vez, evitamos doble negación. |
